Tropical Fruit Bars are bar cookies similar to Magic Cookie Bars, but with a twist. The bottom layer is made with macadamia flavored cookie dough and the top layers is a mixture of Pina Colada Yoplait, condensed milk, dried tropical fruit and white chips. The recipe is originally from the Pillsbury Bake-Off, and I was lucky enough to get to try it while walking around the Bake-Off floor.
Tropical Fruit Bars -- Where Did You Go?
Sadly, I went back to the old link to see the recipe, and it was gone. Maybe Pillsbury discontinued one the ingredients and had to revamp it, but I'm not sure. The recipe should be in the little 2006 Pillsbury Bake-off booklet, but I lost mine. There's also a picture of it on Pinterest. It links to Tablespoon, but the recipe is not there. If I find it, I'll post an adapted version. Then again, since 2006 several people have created similar versions with different products.
Aloha Paradise Bars
There are two similar versions on Betty Crocker. One is called Aloha Paradise Bars and is made with cookie mix (it was a Mix it Up With Betty winner) and the other is called Tropical Fruit Bars and has a base made with cake mix.
