Easy Blackberry Cobbler is an older Betty Crocker recipe where you toss blackberries with sugar and throw them in a pan with an easy batter made of flour, baking powder, salt, milk and melted butter.
Here's a link to the original recipe. It's a little bit different from my others. Most of my cobblers involve melting butter directly in the pan, pouring on a sweet batter, then adding the sweetened berries. In this recipe the batter doesn't have any sugar so it tends to rise a little higher and bake up fluffier. So you get plenty of sweetness from the fruit filling, but the cake is more biscuit-like.
Betty's recipe was pretty basic and didn't call for any spices, but I always add a little cinnamon or cardamom in with the berries.

Hi Valerie,
From what I remember about this recipe (and some other cobblers), the batter kind of rises to the top as it bakes.

I'm confused. The pic shows the batter on top but the recipe says put the blackberries on top.

Hi Anna, I just made berry cobbler a few days ago from a super easy recipe. I used frozen raspberries because that is what I had on hand, but I'm sure it would amazing with blackberries, although it used a bit of sugar!
